Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary is conducting a unique and important initiative regarding preaching (the delivering of homilies or sermons by priests and deacons) here in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In the first part of the initiative, the seminary asked for the feedback of priests and deacons. Now in the second part, the seminary is asking for your feedback, as faithful Catholics who sit in our pews each week and listen to the homilies that are being preached.
I believe the ad below, from the seminary, gives a great summation of what the survey entails (this ad is also located elsewhere in this bulletin):
Please note that the survey has to be taken electronically (i.e., on a computer or another electronic device, such as an ipad). I strongly encourage everyone to take the survey, so that your opinions will be heard!
Please join us for our Triduum in Honor of Saint Joseph, which will be celebrated from Monday, March 18ththrough Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00 P.M. in the upper church at Saint Timothy’s. Each evening’s services include the Triduum Prayers, a homily, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. I invite you to gather with us as we invoke the intercession and protection of this most powerful saint, the patron of the universal Church and of our own Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Once again, I remind you:
in addition to our regularly-scheduled daily Masses, there is an extra Mass celebrated each week at Saint Timothy’s on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M., followed by confessions;
Stations of the Cross every Wednesday evening at 7:00 at Saint Bartholomew’s and every Friday evening at 7:00 at Saint Timothy’s;
our Lenten adult faith formation program, which is held every Tuesday of Lent at 7:00 P.M. in the Rectory at Saint Timothy’s. This year’s topic is This Is My Body: A Call to Eucharistic Revival. Using the book that was distributed to all our parishioners by the same title by Bishop Robert Barron as our starting point, we will discuss the importance of the Eucharist in our life as a Church and in our personal lives as disciples of the Lord Jesus, who continually strive to become missionary disciples in His Name. We will also be examining the Sunday Mass as the foundation of our liturgical life as Catholics. Father Olivere will lead each week’s discussions.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 NOON in the lower church, with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament celebrated at 12:00 NOON.
Remember as well your Lenten tools: the Little Black Books, the Lenten quarter folders, and the cardboard rice bowls, all of which are meant to assist you in your Lenten prayer and almsgiving.
Know that you and those you love are daily remembered in my Mass and my prayers.
